Begin with a clean, smooth, and properly prepared surface. Remove existing wallcoverings and any residual adhesive, then ensure the wall is clean, dry, sound, and free from dust or debris. For unpasted wallpaper, we recommend preparing the surface with a suitable wallpaper primer or sealer to create an even foundation and support a smoother installation and future removal.

Before cutting your first strip, measure the height of the wall and allow approximately 4" of additional length (roughly 2" at both the ceiling and baseboard) for trimming. Make sure to account for the wallpaper’s pattern repeat and match, whether random, straight across, or drop match.

Apply a smooth, even coat of the appropriate wallpaper paste to the reverse of the paper, working from the center toward the edges and ensuring the paste reaches the seams.

Gently fold the pasted strip onto itself, paste sides together, taking care not to crease the paper. This process, known as booking, allows the paper to absorb the moisture from the paste and relax before it is applied to the wall. Allow the paper to book for the period recommended by your wallpaper manufacturer (typically around 3–5 minutes).

Beginning with your first strip, align the edge carefully and allow the paper to overlap the ceiling and baseboard. Smooth gently from the center outward using a wallpaper brush or suitable smoother, removing air bubbles and ensuring good contact with the wall without stretching or distorting the paper.

Continue around the room, carefully aligning each subsequent strip with the previous one and matching the pattern precisely. For butt-joined seams, bring the edges together neatly without overlapping. Use a seam roller with gentle pressure to secure without damaging the surface.

As you progress, periodically step back to assess the pattern alignment, color, and overall finish. This is particularly important with patterned or tonal wallpapers, where subtle variations can become more apparent as the installation develops.

Once all strips are in place, trim the excess paper at the ceiling and baseboard using a sharp razor knife and straight edge. Carefully remove any remaining paste with a clean, damp cloth or sponge, following the care recommendations for your wallpaper and taking care not to damage the surface. 

Allow the installation to dry naturally, avoiding excessive heat or rapid changes in temperature. Once complete, take a step back and admire the finished result.

To start, clean, dry, and smooth all surfaces. Products will not adhere to unclean, textured, or nonstick surfaces. Allow newly painted surfaces to fully cure for a minimum of 4 weeks before applying this peel and stick wallpaper.

Beginning on the left side of your wall, measure out from the corner the width of the paper and mark the wall lightly with a pencil. Using your level, draw a straight line down. This is the guide for your 1st strip, and it is very important for it to be a straight, vertical line.

Cut the first strip to wall height, allowing an extra inch or two on top and bottom for subsequent strips. Make sure to align any design from strip to strip prior to cutting and hanging each strip. Cut and trim product with a sharp razor knife, changing the blade often to help maintain a smooth, clean cut.

Peel about 12” to 24” (30.48cm to 60.96cm) of the backing away from the top of the paper. Apply the paper to the top of the wall, allowing a bit of excess to overlap with the ceiling which will be trimmed off later. Align the right side of the strip to your mark and lightly press the edge to the wall along the mark. You can reposition if needed to ensure a vertical seam.

Trim excess material at ceiling and baseboard with a straight edge and sharp razor knife. Repeat procedure aligning your next strip to the right edge of your previous strip. Overlap edges slightly (approx. 1/32th of an inch / 0.5 mm), just make sure the pattern aligns perfectly when doing so. Overlapping the product will allow a tolerance of the material if it is hung in an environment that may cause it to shrink.
